Callum Innes Biography
Callum Innes was born in Edinburgh in 1962. He began exhibiting in the mid-to late 1980's and emerged in the 1990's, gaining worldwide recognition as an important abstract painter of his generation. He has been awarded many prizes including the Jerwood Prize for Painting in 2002 and the Nat West Prize in 1998. His museum exhibitions, for example, From Memory, have traveled internationally. His work is included in many publications and is included in major public collections such as the Tate Gallery, London; the Kunstmuseum, Bern, Switzerland; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Centre George Pompidou, France; the Museum of Modern Art, Fort Worth; The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
